Our dashboards are hosted on Google Data Studio. To get started, all you need is a Google account and a Xero account.
Here's how:
Open a new template and click “Connect with Xero”.
Follow the instructions to authenticate the connection with Xero.
Your dashboard template will be populated with your data automatically.
You can run AI-powered forecasts and scenarios on any quantitative time series data with the giniPredict Google Sheet add-on.
Here's how:
Install the giniPredict Google Sheet add-on.
Open a new Google Sheet and go to Add-ons > giniPredict > Import from Xero.
Follow the instructions to import a report from Xero. We recommend importing at least 24 months of data.
Click “Import” and wait for a new sheet to appear with your Xero data.
Follow the instructions on the sidebar to run forecasts and scenarios on your data.
Our Xero integration provides a one-way data sync from Xero to Google Data Studio and Google Sheets respectively.
giniPredict pulls data from your Xero reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Budget Summary.
These diagrams show how giniPredict integrates with Xero and what type of data is used.
For giniPredict dashboards on Google Data Studio, your data syncs with Xero automatically every 12 hours. You can also trigger a manual sync using the “Refresh data” button on the Google Data Studio menu.
For giniPredict forecasting on Google Sheets, you can import reports from Xero manually. To update a report, you can import it again on the same worksheet. This will update the data in the existing worksheet.
Disconnecting from Xero removes giniPredict’s authorisation to connect to Xero. If you need to import your Xero data again, you will be prompted to log in and reauthorise giniPredict to connect to Xero.
Log into your business account on Xero account.
Go to Settings > General Settings > Connected Apps.
Find giniPredict from the list and click “Disconnect”.
In the Google Sheet, go to Add-ons and select “Connect to Xero”.
If you are already connected to Xero, a sidebar will open.
Click “Disconnect from Xero”.
If your data doesn't import as expected, please check these potential causes:
Missing reports
In order to import data that powers the dashboard, your Xero organisation must have at least the “Profit & Loss” and “Balance Sheet” reports available and filled with data.
Missing variables/accounts
During the import through our connector, we will inform you if you are missing data from any specific accounts. A few missing accounts will not impede data import, but the insights that use the missing accounts may not work as intended.
Budget summary
You will need to have set a budget for your expenses in your “Budget Summary” in Xero in order to power the budget speedometer insight. All other insights on the dashboard will function without a budget summary.
Profit & Loss
In order to import data, your Xero organisation must have at least the “Profit & Loss” report available and filled with data.
Cell formatting
If you are facing errors when trying to forecast with the imported data, please check that the date cells are formatted as dates and the numeric cells are formatted as numeric data.
If you are still experiencing issues, let us know and we’ll help you sort it asap. Remember to include any error messages you got, and the state of the above causes.
